The Deployed Applications tab of the Installed Software sub-feature of Computer Management gives EMU Users an appropriate toolkit to manage application deployments without overstepping globally deployed applications. The intention is to allow management of one-off/EMU-Deployed applications, while locking the ability to remove larger-scale deployments likely configured by SysAdmins in the environment.
Deployment Case Scenario Explenations:
- If an application deployment is shown as only coming from the EMU Deployment collection (Typically this means the app was only deployed to the target host via someone using EMU), the following logic applies:
- If the application has an uninstall packaged, the "Remove Deployment and Uninstall" option will show as available.
- The Remove Deployment option will be enabled individually if there is no Uninstall Packaged.
- If a Temporary Uninstaller exists for this package within the EMU Temporary Uninstall share, the Temporary Uninstall option will also become enabled.
- If the application has an uninstall packaged, the "Remove Deployment and Uninstall" option will show as available.
- If an application deployment is shown as coming from anything other than just the EMU Deployment Collection (Typically this means the app was only deployed on a larger scale within ConfigMgr, such as to "All Systems", etc.), the following logic applies:
- If the application has an uninstall packaged, it will show as locked, otherwise it will show as unavailable.
- The Remove Deployment option will show as locked.
- If a Temporary Uninstaller exists for this package within the EMU Temporary Uninstall share, the Temporary Uninstall option will also become enabled, regardless of whether or not the deployment is locked. This is intended for situations where we need to simply "reinstall a deployed application" and make everything within the app package is cleaned up properly via methods utilized in the script.
- If the application has an uninstall packaged, it will show as locked, otherwise it will show as unavailable.
- In cases of Deployment Removals and Uninstalls, status wil be tracked in the Deployment Monitor:
